Help!! Russell is starting to float on his side!!

It's been awhile since I have posted here. But I need some help! Russell has been acting funny for the last 2 days and now I hav notced that he can't swim to the bottom and is slowly starting to flat on his side. He leans up against he side of the glass and just sits there. He looks a little bloated what can I do?! What is it? Swim bladder?! What can i do to start fixing it?

Reading and answering the questions will help us give you more specific advice: http://www.bettafish.com/showthread.php?t=49233

Be especially specific about the tank size, heating, water quality, and feeding related questions.

Hey neighbor.....

How big is the tank, how much and how often are the water changes, filtration, live plants, additives used, water temp, how is his appetite, how long have you had him and how long has he acted this way, have you tried any treatments?

No treatments yet. He looks to have a couple scales missing and I'm too afraid to give him a salt bath.

No filter? appetite?-hopefully it is not age related....

I would Qt him and do a Epsom salt 1tsp/gal along with 100% daily water changes for 10 days-since he is bloated and floating. I would cover the QT with plastic veggie wrap to keep the air warm and humid and hold food for now.

Got any pic?

I would try the Qt and Epsom salt

Also, with a filter you really don't need to make 100% water changes-I would do twice weekly 50% and vacuum with one of them. This will help keep the cycle and so you can get the algae under control

Is he still eating?

He ate yesterday just fine. I've been sitting here watching him now and he is making a weird twitching move.
