Hey Meeka
I Got Eco complete I was told thats really good for the plants. I'm thinking about returning them.(the ones that arent aquatic) If I cant find my receipt I hope they'll take em back. it says PETCO right on the front of the tubes.

Thanks for the advice everyone

I am sure they will let you exchange them even if you dont have you receipt if it still says petco on them.

I think you will need a receipt in order to return it as proof of purchase.
And what i meant is just to have the ROOTS in the water. You could stick it in the filter or through a gap in your hood and have the leaves up out of the water.

Dont buy random plants at places like petco. Only stuff you've heard of. As far as AQUATIC plants go - I know my petco sells java fern, moss, crypts, and anubias in their tanks. They also sell some aquatic plants in those little pastic tubes. These include wisteria, hygrophila (labeled as compacta), and Java fern (labeled as tropica fern).

plants not to buy:
- Kyoto grass
- mondo grass
- brazil sword
- lucky bamboo

Filters have a cap on the intake tube. You can also put a sponge around it if you like. Its practically impossible for a fish to be sucked in the filter.

I hate to both everyone by asking more questions but... I've been feeding them Hikari betta bio gold and I've read that isn't the best anymore. What are some other good foods for my betta? I prefer to feed them pellets

thanks again

Hikari really isn't as good as it used to be.. if you look in the ingredients list you'll notice that a meat product is not the first ingredient. This is a big no-no when you're looking for a staple food for a carnivorous animal.

I use OmegaOne Betta Buffet Pellets and New Life Spectrum. Other good brands are Atison's Betta Pellets and Ken's Betta Crumbles. It's also a good idea to supplement your fish's diet with some frozen foods. You can keep using the Hikari once in awhile, but it's not good enough quality to be a staple food for your fish every day.

Or if you like the looks of the plant, plant it in soil in a planter! :)
