Does anyone know about trace elements for freshwater?

My nitrates come out of the tap a bit high, 15 - 20 ppm...... so i have been told to use distilled water.

problem is no trace elements are being replenished.

can anyone tell me which would be better for my betta since i am using distilled water.... seachem fresh trace: Seachem. Fresh Trace
or Aqueon's Betta Water Renewal: Aqueon Betta Water Renewal -- 4 fl oz - Vitacost

I love Seachem products, but the Aqueon may be better suited as the Seachem is for general freshwater fish, and Aqueon's is supposedly specificially for bettas.....both contain overlapping ingredients, approximately 9, but each contains other elements / minerals the other does not... any advice?

Either. Or you can use spring water instead of distilled.

I would use "Equilibrium" by SeaChem to replace the lost mineral/electrolytes/trace in the distilled water

Seachem Equilibrium is what you want--you can use most other products recommended for treating/buffering RO (reverse osmosis) water too, such as Kent's R/O Right. I never trust things that are "just for bettas"--usually that just means it's watered down, after all, bettas aren't so special that they have different needs from other tropical fish. Anyone who has looked at the items around a betta display in a normal pet store knows that items marketed toward bettas are almost always inadequate, if not unethical.
