Question Tank Light On All Day?

I have to leave the house all day 5 days a week and I'm afraid that my tank lights will catch fire if I leave them on all day when I'm gone. Right ow it is off all day so it is all mixed up. What should I do?

Why are you afraid of the light catching fire....are they acting funny, old, in disrepair?

If you have live plants I guess you'll have to invest in a timer... If you dont then leaving them off will be just fine so long as its not totally dark.

They aren't very old or acting wierd....but for me it's more like; "It's on all day with light or off all day with 0 light."

I'm in a pickle. S:

What counts as 'all day'? Like are you gone 8am-8pm and then home? If you're home every night just flick them on before you leave and turn them off when you get home.

If your room has enough ambient room light they will be fine. If its going to be totally dark then you will need to keep the lights on.

Okay...to recap...

NO fire hazard if I leave it on between 8:00AM - 9:30pm OR 12:00am (Weekends)?
