Hey guys!! Well I need a new growout because my bro took my 30 gallon for his turtles (which is STUPID because he has an empty 150 gallon). Anyway PetCo has a deal that it's $1 for every gallon. So I'm getting a 20 gallon there (possibly more bettas hehe), a lighted hood from WalMart (even more bettas there....) and a sturdy piece of furniture from a thrift store (and more jars ).

Here's my plan with this growout:

Natural gravel
Lots of live plants
Fake driftwood caves
Betta bungalows (spanning around the tank)
Sponge or small power filter (I have three extras)

Anything else I should add??

He won't be using that 30 gallon very long.. aquatic red eared slider turtle babies need at least 30-50 gallons, and even more if he has multiple babies. Once these things start growing he's going to need that 150 quick. If I were you, I'd try to convince him to be reasonable because a 30G tank just isn't a practical setup for aquatic turtles for long enough to be worth the trouble of even setting up. A lot of people underestimate the needs of these guys and so many die horrible deaths each year because of it.

Ya he's going to move them but he's not giving my tank back....he wants seahorses

He only has 2 baby turtles but I wish he would've just put them in the 150 in the first place.....it just makes more sense and because need that tank :/
