Ich?

So looking around the forum I haven't been able to find a solid explanation for treating ich.. pretty sure the male I just got has it pretty bad, and I need to treat it. Looks like lots of teeny white flecks all across his tail.

I only just realized this now, so he was in the divided tank with Nettle last night.. should I pull Nettle out too?

Blehh, won't let me edit the first post.. just realized that he seems to be flashing, now, so I'm guessing they're in his gills as well? I have a critter keeper I can use as a hospital tank, but no spare heater to keep it warm.. any suggestions?

I got some treatment from walmart for ich and it worked on my betta. You may want to try that.

I would treat the divided tank and both fish-I like using a more natural method by following the parasite life cycle

I first slowly raise the water temp to the mid-high 80'sF and start making daily deep gravel vacuum to manually remove the ich from the tank as they fall from the fish in the high water temp, depending on how bad the infestation is-I will also add aquarium salt 1-2tsp/gal
I continue this treatment for at least 3 days past the last day I could see the ich on the fish.

Okay, thanks both of you. I'll try OFL's method, and if it doesn't work I'll consider looking into medication. I'd rather not pump my fish up on meds right away.. thank you!
