Divided bare-bottom tank?

So my 29 gal is in the process of being divided into 3, and have it bare bottom since petsmart doesn't has gravel the color I want But I have it divided into 2 now, not evenly since I got a new guy today Last one FOR A VERY LONG TIME. Well we'll see how long that lasts. Haha so I was wondering are there any concerns with a divided bare bottom? I know the divider isn't as secure without gravel padding it, but is fine for now... Any thoughts?

Cant see the pic. I would be hesitant about bare bottom. Have heard too many horror stories of fish wiggling through. Thats why people recommend to cover it with a few inches of gravel...
