Can I use Kordon Ich Attack and Aquarium Salt?

My new Betta and new Pleco has Ick. I added the Ich Attack today, only the first dose so far. But I also have AQ salt and I was wondering if I can use both. Please advise. I really want to save my guys though since I've only had them for five days I could take them back to Petco. But I want to do everything I can first to save them. Please help. :'(.

Just raise the temperature to at least 86 and leave it there for 2 weeks. That's all it takes. No meds or salt are necessary.

I am currently working on raising the water temperature of my infected tank. But they look like they are suffering, I'm very worried. I don't want to take them back because I'm sure they will just kill them.

... However, if you don't have an adjustable heater, I have read it is not a common practice to use two medications at once.

Okay. I do have an adjustable heater, temp is at 84 currently and I will just stick with the one medication. Thanks again.

If he shows no signs of improvement. You can always do a water changes, wait a few days, another water change, wait a few days(some time to rest and fresh water) and start another treatment. But like jaysee said: increasing the water temperature alone may do the trick.

Thank you so much for your help. I am increasing the water temp and will do a water change in a couple days. The temp is still at 84 but I'm afraid to jump right in and turn it up some more yet, its just a small tank. I will let you know how they are doing.

The temperature is what the temperature is, no matter the size of the tank. I treat at 88 degrees - haven't found a fish in over 50 species that couldn't handle it. But that's just my experience. I think your fish will be just fine, meds not withstanding - I never mix the two (heat and meds).

Thank you jaysee I won't mix meds. I have read that adding AQ salt at water changes will help fight against infestations (as long as the fish are healthy). Do you use AQ salt as a preventive?
