okay, before i set out to buy my kid, i want to make sure i got everything list.

i should get a 5g fish tank
change water with tap water is fine as long as i put prime conditioner in the tank, and i only have to change 50% of the water

get a - Liquid Test Kit: A liquid Test Kit will help keep you know your Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH levels. Ammonia and nitrite should always be 0, nitrates under 20ppm, and pH at a level of 6-7.5.
also need heater for stable temperature keep it at 82 the best



do i miss anything?

Sounds good but 82 is a little high I would keep it at 79 or 80

Yes a divided 5g or 10g tank with a filter and heater would be best. 5g will require alot less maintenance than a bowl, and a divided 10g (just 2 bettas) will require even less maintenance.

Hope your'e not overwhelmed with all the info. I kept my little guy in a vase for several weeks and then I upgraded him to a 10 gallon.

Also what are you feeding them?

sorry for the late reply, been busy with midterms, lol of course not gonna overwhelmed wth the info, thanks. its all good advice. i am currently feeding them the small pallets.

i just got a 5 gallon hexagon tank off craigslist for $5. hahah, im going to follow bettaboy's step, i want a plank tank. hope it will be good.

any ideas to divide a hexagon tank?

yup, I actually got the same tank for my betta before I started researching.

lol, at least it was only 4 dollars.
