I never boiled my driftwood and I prepared myself to do some extreme water changes... and my wood doesnt leak that much tannis. It did give the water a yellowish tint for a few weeks but thats about it. It still is a bit yellowish but its much more subtle right now. I guess it depends on the type of wood. I used Mopani wood.
