Who will get along with my betta?

I have a male betta and I want to get him a friend for his tank hes in a 10gal. And since someone has already made himself a lovely bubble nest I dont want to put a female betta in there(im already taking care of molly fry) What fish would be ok to put with my betta? Once my molly fry are bigger are they ok to be with him?

A quick list off the top of my head: pygmy cories (groups of 6 or more), harlequin rasboras (groups of 6 or more), shrimp (ghost or cherry), some people have luck with neons and glolight tetras, danios

Cory cats are some of the safest options, but it really depends on the temperament of your betta. One of my betta's ignores shrimp, the other eats them. Regardless of what you add, be prepared to separate the betta or take the tank mates back in case aggression becomes an issue.

what about frogs?

Frogs work too! But just be prepared, they don't have good vision so you might have to tong feed them so the other fish don't steal their food! They do good in groups of 3 or more

Cherry barbs are good, similar size and not fin-nippy, and pretty cool fish in their own right.

As a side note, male and female bettas can't be kept together like male and female guppies or mollies can, they'll attack and likely kill each other.. ghost or cherry shrimp may be a good bet for your tank, though it depends on the personality of your fish. Some bettas don't mind tank mates, and others would be better left off alone.
