Cloudy water help.

The post says it all. I have a five gallon tank that I have been cycling. All that's in it is gravel, one wisteria, and one big piece of volcanic rock. I can't seem to figure out why the water is so cloudy. Any help would be much appreciated.

P.S. My levels are pretty close to normal for cycling like I am. Or so I have gotten from reading on here. lol.

The volcanic rock may be the problem. Igneous rocks tend to be dusty and crumbly even if not visible. I would remove it.

Are you doing a fishless cycle with shrimp? I read somewhere that it's common for the water to get cloudy. Mine did. I did a partial water change, and after about a week, the cloudiness went away.

Thanks for all the info guys. I have been pretty busy over the week, so I wasn't able to post, but yesterday I managed to fix the problem. I removed the shrimp in my tank, and now the water is starting to clear up. I guess it was something with it. If the problem comes back, or gets worse I will try removing the rock. I don't think it is dusty gravel. I rinsed it off really well.
