2.5 Showcase!

So I had a 10 gallon with my crowntail, and a few guppies awhile back. Unfortunatley the betta died. Been looking to get a new one, but as you probably guessed it, the 3 guppies has turned into 10 (wonder if those darn things are part rabbit!? lol) Anyway fortunatly I have a spare 2.5 sitting around.

My dilema? I have no idea what to do with this tank!! Show your tiny tanks and help me out!!

Had to make a light for this thing, where I live its about impossible to find one for a 2.5 gal.

This is all it looks like sitting atop the tank....a black rectangle.



Inside is just some basic electrical. Power in, switch, and a light socket. Light is one of those flourescents kinda lights from walmart, man those things light up a tank!





I have a the guys over at http://www.designsbynature.net/ sending me out some stuff for my baby tank. A baby background (only about 3/4" to save space as my tank is only 6" front to back) and a broken pieces of the driftwood they sell as well.

what kind of filter & heater (if you have one) are you guys using in such small tanks?

My house maintains pretty much a constant 90° due to its concrete structure in Southern California, so I don't use a heater 'cuz it'd fry poor Sonic. I just use the filter that came with the minibow, it's made by Aqueon, you may be able to find a similar one.

right now i just have a sponge filter, which blends in very well with my black sand (black sponge) with one of hydors little heater pads under the sand. Trying to keep the tank as "clean" looking as possible. Experience with these? Will it work? Well....it works. I mean will that along with the water changes be suitable for my new betta?

i dont use a heater as i live in south florida so the temp in my house stays at 80 and the tank stays at 78... but i use the whisper 3i filter which i dont really bother disguising. i just put a plant in front of it and thats it :)

Should be suitable. I don't see why not. I don't really know much about sponge filters because I use a charcoal filter but it should be fine. Hope this helps!
