Exclamation somethings up with my males!

A while ago, Ds lost his upper jaw. i have no clue how it happened, he lives in a 10 gal heated, filered, divided with Fl. ph, nitrate, and ammonia levels are good, so water quality is probebly not the cause. I assumed that somehow, Fl had acess to Ds like he jumped or something, so i lowered the water half of the original level. on his side he has a log in which he can enter, and a few silk plants.(no gravel) fortunatly, hes still eating, flaring, and acting all awesome.

A few days later, Fl's upper jaw started falling apart! now half of it is gone exposing white flesh on both of em. If I remember right, one of his pectoral fins stoped moving the night before he lost his jaw. it also got a small red dot. The day, he lost his jaw, another red dot appeared on his tail. Im sure its not blood, cause his fins arent torn. these dots kind of come and go, slowly fading one day and reappearing in the next week or so. Like Ds, he's still happy and he hasent gone pale or lost any weiight, which first i assumed waas fish turbuculosis. on his side is a cave and no gravel.

I'm doing 100% water changes weekly (Im not lazy with water changes, so really, i dont mind) with the 1 tea. salt per gal. with twice the conditioner cause that is suposed to help with wounds and ripped fins. I'm not allowed to buy commercial med. so ya. Treatment so far isn't really helping, so please help!

- DS

You do 100% water changes in your filtered 10 gallon? it's not cycled?

Wait--what? His jaw fell off? I think we really need some pictures. Can he still eat? Can he still breathe properly? How can a fish without a jaw bite himself?

You seriously have some of the strangest fish stories I've ever heard from one single person. Maybe I'm not understanding exactly what's happened with his jaw--the only recommendation I can really give you at this point is clean water and some salt until I know more about the problem.

Flabbergasted, i would expect, i mean i tried googling missing betta jaw, and nothing came up. My tank is cycled, but i did 100% water changes ever since the problem.

Someone suggested spot treating, i have done it before with my extreame fungus fish, (It works.) should I?

I will try to get pics, but basically it looks like he has two piggy nostrils. Still flaring and normal.

on Ds the entire upper jaw is missing, but on Fl, it's only half!

My main question is, why is it that after Ds lost his jaw, Fl did too?!?

Oh, and they are still acting fine and eating and breathing.

pics soon to come...

Are you sure that they've both lost their jaws, or are they really just missing some scales?
