Hopefully he wont just nom them all as soon as he hits the water lol. Plants got held up for some reason, either way they should still beat my betta here.

I have had quite a few of my RCS molt/shed already, and if I look real close, there are a few baby shrimps swiming around too! Shrimp farm?? Maybe.....

So after a mix up at the post office (package sat in Grand Rapids MI for several days...) my plants finally came in today. everything is still nice and green, apparently the plants most have been in excellent condition before shipping for them to last that long. (++++++chambers3530 on aquabid). So the tank is no planted, and the shirmp LOVE it. they were covering the plants as soon as they hit the water. Will post pics as soon as I can

Bamboo????

I am wanting to put bamboo in my tank, not lucky bamboo, just bamboo. Im not even really wanting it to be green, I want it to be like in the tank below. I already have pieces sitting in the shed drying out. I am planning to just cut it to the proper height, and silicone the pieces to a piece of plexi to keep them upright. To prevent it from getting moldy, should I seal it with a clearcoat?

I wouldn't personally put anything apart from a betta in a 2.5 gallon, but since it's already been done...well, with the plants and the filter you should be okay, but don't forget to moniter the water levels regularly.

I've never had any experience with dried-out bamboo before. I just not that bamboo leaves iin the water is what you should watch out for, because they rot...I don't think you should have any problems.
