new little boy

hi! i just got my first betta yesterday, i got him from a local fish store. it was sort of like a rescue, the tank they had him in had so much current that the poor dear couldn't even swim in a straight line. he's now in a 1.5 gal bowl. yes, i know, yall suggest 2.5, but he is very small (his body's only about an inch) and he loves it, so i think he'll be fine for now. he has a heater so he can be nice and warm.

i'll be doing water changes, 25% every 2 days, and a 100% once a week.

he's a sweet little boy, he ate his first meal yesterday with much enthusiasim, and whenever he sees me he swims right over to say hi. i know he's just another plain old red vt, but i love him <3

i love the bit of black on the tip of his tail.

he's a photogenic boy

he really likes his plastic plant (its soft, and i filed down any points, so its safe)

showing off how agile he is.

i hope yall like my boy!!! if you have any suggestions for a newbie such as myself please share them! i've been stalking this site for the past week, studying up to prepare for him, but if i've missed anything, please let me know!

He is a super gorgous boy :) I would keep a eye on the temp though cause I'm not very sure if you can safetly heat a 1.5 gallon...So just make sure it doesn't get too hot. Also in the future you might want to upgrade your tank. Welcome to the world of bettas! xD

Aww, I like the black at the end of his tail too :P He's very pretty!

And yes, you can safely heat a 1.5 gal.

Oh, he is just the sweetest thing! >u< They're so cute when they're tiny.

Well, they're always cute, just super cute as teeny fish. :P

Just make sure you keep up with the water changes until he gets a bigger tank. It can be a pain but clean water can do all kinds of good for em'.
