New Betta Mom and already 1 dead and 1 sick HELP

it might be that you cleaned out 100% of the tanks water. you are sposed to leave 10-25% of the water in there. i was told that form petco. i just got mine yesterday and thats what they told me. i hope i helped.

A word of advice...pet store workers are idiots...they know nothing about bettas so NEVER listen to them.

ALL fish do better after a complete water change. I do weekly 100% changes on my betta jars and my fish are happy bubblenesting hungry little guys. I do not reccomend 100% changes for fry but I do 90% for them daily.

I bow to your knowledge of bettas, but... ouch. Thanks for the blanket insult. Some of us petstore employees make a full-time career out of working with animals and have done so for many years, you know.

It is true, however, that most pet store employees don't know a lot about bettas. Or rather, that they've been misinformed by the places they work for, which suffer from the same misinformation as the general public. This forum is a much better resource for betta care than most pet -- or even fish specialty -- stores.
