A few years ago I had a red VT that died. On some impulse I was reluctant to let go so I stuck him in the freezer. Several months later I re-found his cup in the back of the freezer and flipped.

It may sound goofy, but I usually wrap them in paper towel and bury in one of our flower beds.

Lion Mom, that would be my method. :) I'd bring them back to my house and bury them in the garden.

ONLY the flowerbeds, though and NEVER by the tomatoes - just in case.

Even though I haven't had a fish die from anything other than old age in YEARS, I just wouldn't take the chance on burying one near veggies.
