Exclamation Need help doing a 100% water change!

Hey everyone, I need some advice. I want to do a 100% water change and i have a live plant in my tank. Do i take the plant out to do the water change? If i do that will it damage any of the roots that may have rooted in the gravel (if this is happened)? Please help, i dont wanna keep ricardo in his little cup for too long ^^;;

You can take the plant out and then just re-bury the roots when you put it back in Can i ask why your doing a 100% water change, is the tank cycled?

You could get a gravel vac, yeah, but if your tank in cycled you don't want to do a 100% change.. I made that mistake in my 5gal and threw off everything, so now I have to wait for it to right itself. e.e

If it isn't cycled disregard that, lmfao.

The tank is only 1.5 gallons so it wont cycle. I have a siphon but i realized that it wont work because i cannot fully submerge the siphon ^^;

Oh you could get it to work, you would just have to suck on the other end of the siphon to get the suction going... >.>

My gravel vac won't self-start, I have to suck on the other end to get it to go.. just be careful if you do, I was being hasty the other day and got a mouthful of tank water.. came out my nose and everything lol. xD
