That is what it sounds like to me..the fast moving Flexibacter Columaris-it move fast killing fish within 12-24h-somewhat like the flesh eating bacteria in humans.
It is in our tanks all the time waiting on the right conditions-stress from over crowding, poor water quality, low oxygen and sudden high temps.
Not much can be done but remove the infected fish and destroy-get 3tsp/gal of aquarium salt in the tank, increase aeration and lower the water temp to 75-76F and hope what fish are left have some immunity to it.

This is one of the reason that I like to treat sick fish in lower water temps-
