Oh my gosh! I love your cats! One of my goals someday is to adopt a black cat <3 Poor kitties are usually the last ones left at the shelters and such ): It's nice to see that you don't follow the norm in this case!!

Welcome to the forum!
All of my black cats were so active and cute when they were young. Now their just fat, lazy and lay around the house all day.

+1 That's very true. It kind of irks me how superstition can influence the choice of what color pet your going to get. And that's one of the main reason I chose to get them.

Doggyhog, ohmigosh, sooo cute! I have 8 cats, all fat, all lazy, one just downright violent.

Adam, your cats are so gorgeous, they look like panthers. :) My mom had a pair of black cat sisters, one long-haired, one short-haired. Right now, we have two black smoke girls but the rest are tabbies because that's what showed up on our doorstep waiting to be adopted. Five tabbies. I call them all by the wrong names on a regular basis. (Oops, the 8th kitty is a blue/cream)

(s)He is so cute! (s)He looks just like my cat Bailey did when he was a kitten. Even though I'm a guy.. I do prefer cats. My parents have 5 Newfoundlands/ Great Pyrenees mix and they are HUGE dogs. But with dogs, all you have to do is feed them and they love you. With cats, you have to work for their attention. And they still pretend not to care for you.
I swear all cats are French.

+1 If anyone can tell me why you have to have dogs on a diet, and why you can leave the cat's food out for them to eat when they please. No using Google!

I love Newfoundlands, they're great big lovable bears but they ARE big dogs. Too big for me to keep, alas. I can't imagine five of them.

Hahah, I can't tell you why dogs have to diet but I can tell you my cats are on a diet even with the food left out. Weight management food, kitties, you're tubbos.

It's because the dog family are scavengers and will eat whenever they get a chance. Even to the point of over eating and getting sick.
Where as the cat family are hunters and will only eat when they are hungry.

Yay, I learned something new! Even knowing the basic facts that dogs are scavengers and cats are hunters, I never quite understood the feeding implications.
