Is it normal for a Betta to be protective of other animals/moss balls?
Reason is, I had 3 Red Cherry Shrimps in my 5 gal tank before I got my pink female and she didn't mind them at all. But when I tried adding 3 ghost shrimp to the tank, She didn't mind them unless they got too close to my RCS, in which she uh killed them

but she never harasses the RCS, she actually lays right next to them and they don't mind her either. She is also VERY protective of her Marimo moss ball, She'll lay under it, sleep on top of it, stare at it for minutes, and try to push it around even though its too big for her. And when i take it out of the tank, she races around the tank and stares straight up at the surface of the water till I put it back. And when i put it back she'll race down to it and swim around it for ages.
So are all Betta's like that?
