Betta Zoology

Hi everyone, I am a new betta fish owner as of last week. I'm not sure if bettas are this deeply studied, but does anyone know of any good, trustworthy books or sites that explain the zoology of bettas or fresh water fish in general? I'd like to learn about his anatomy, circadian rhythms, thermostasis, chemostasis, the biology behind his behavior, and some genetic information. Are there any good sources for this? Thanks!

Your best bet would be to join the IBC and read the articles posted there. There aren't many reliable sources on bettas as far as scientific journals but there is a lot of information out there.

These sites have a lot of information on bettas from a genetic point of view.
