nooooo *cries*

As you know Neptune's tail somehow got damaged some time ago well it was growing back quite well and....

I went to check on him just now and noticed that his tail is a while lot looser at the ends now and it looks like a few little pieces are missing *cries* I'm not sure how it happened either he bit his own tail or its the filter I noticed that the rubber band that was holding the baffle had popped so could it be he got angry that the flow got heavy again?

Will aquarium salt help speed up healing?

Ok I figure it out and had to do an emergency water change. I have the liquid test kit but i was doing the ammonia reading incorrectly now that I done it I've seen that it spiked like crazy. I thought he was acting weird but he ate fine so I thought nothing of it.
