Cool No bubble nest, why?

I bought my first betta a week ago, named Moe. He is a beautiful blue and pink little guy, I don't know how to classify him by his tail yet.

Anyway, I keep reading posts from this community and other sites that their bettas started creating bubble nests less than a day of brining their new fishy home. At the local petshop where I bought Moe some of the other bettas that were put into small vases/fish bowels with live plants on the top have quite nice bubble nests going. But my betta hasn't made one yet! He hasn't squeezed out a bubble!

I don't think its a super serious issue with him, but don't bubble nests = security and comfort for a betta? Moe is adjusting to his food well (Hikari pellets) and usually swimming around energetically in his 1.5 gal tank since I got him, plus I got him a little mini heater today for the Winter and cold nights. He seems happy but why no nest?

Bubble nests have nothing to do with happiness.. It's a natural mating instinct, Survival instinct..

Maybe hes just not mature enough to make nests yet

My boys didn't build a nest when I first got them. I think it was about 2 weeks when Neptune built his first nest and its been about 3 weeks and Cream just made one a few days ago. But some do some don't just wait and see you may get a surprise one morning :D

Even a male in the spawning tub won't make a nest. I've noticed betta eggs float so sometimes my males don't really need them. My new spawn (which took me by suprise a few hours ago XD) had a nest under a plastic lid from a soda like you'd get at a fast food restaurant.

I promise his tank is bigger in real life! XD
And sorry the picture quality isn't very good I used my mac book camera.
He has light blue and pink coloring and I think he is a veil tail.
He is such a show-off for the camera! :P

Yup 100% veil. Watch the fins though. They're torn and may become infected so keep him clean :)
