New spawn! HMxVT!

Tonight i gave in and setup my new breeding tank. I will be spawning my male Hm and my female vt. I know its a messy tail type but eh , i like them. Im spawning them in a 5 gal tub . Once they reach 2 weeks old they can join the other fry in the 20 gal growout by this time most of the other fry will be out so the new fry will have it mainly to themselves. They better spawn! lol I teared down one of my favourite planted tanks just to make room for the tub.

Will my brine shrimp hatchery be able to feed both of the spawns?

How old are the older fry?

The older fry are nearly 1 month old. Did you every get any fry in the end???

Well my spawn went very well!!:) And my fry are 2 weeks and 1 day old right now:)


Also, it would not be a good idea to put the 2 week old fry in with the 1 month old fry because the 1 months will eat the 2 weeks old and they all will not know each other and the 1 months will pick on the 2 weeks if the month olds dont already eat them.

Actually bettalover, just yesterday I got some new fish from a breeder and in her 55g growout there were fry from 6 weeks- 12 weeks and there were a couple of females in there that have been in there for months.

However yeah I don't think it would be a good idea to put them together when they are 2 weeks. I'd say wait until they are 6 weeks at least.

No no you dont understand. Most of the older fry will already be jarred up so they will have most of it to themselves. see?
Anyway i decied not to go ahead with spawning going to wait a week or so. Got to mamy exams at school. Im already busy as it is , so Im gonna spawn again a bit later on

Well i hope you breed very soon maybe you will change your mind and breed sooner and see how you can fit time into the breeding:)
