What is this?!?!?!?!?

I noticed this in the tanks a few days ago, and thought it would go away on its own but it hasn't. I have done a 100% water chang in one tank, and the other I am leaving till tomorrow (fishies are in their cups in clean water) when I can take some water samples to the pet store. Its gross, and a brownish color. It is on the walls of the tank, the terra cotta pot, the rocks and its almost eating away at the plants we have in there.
Pictures, I only have 2

It looks and sounds like diatoms-normal in new set ups (less than 3 months old) and will resolve on their own, easily wipe away and removed with water changes-they can also be caused by old light bulb in more mature tanks-changing the bulb will fix it
Diatoms are harmless to the fish-just look ugly-they can be worse in tank that have either IAL, oak leaf or the black water extract products used in them too.

Yea, I have that too. It will go away in time, I heard that getting aponogeton plant (bulb) helps get rid of it some, it's a nice plant too. :)
