Question It's a mess...

So Pinyin is a slob. I have come to this conclusion, as he likes to eat (lots) and that means he poops (lots)

He has some 90's themed gravel (It's rainbow) and I have started to notice that it's covered in a black coloured algae. His fake plants are covered in it too, as well as his pagoda. It's a 5-Gal, and it is filtered (via an air pump and sumbmergible filter. It's from 1994, so I really have no clue if it's actually working)

I had to return my gravel vac today, as it doesn't even work. But I have a scrubbie, and it's fine for the sides of the tank.

Is there any way of putting an Algae Eater in there?
