I just made a coconut cave and I want to attach some moss to it, fishing line isn't working for me so I was wondering whether some aquarium sealant will do the trick. What do you guys think and if you have another way, please feel free to let me know haha
fishing line is normally the standard, i deff would not use aquarium sealant as it would probably kill the plants. the line will be underneath but just dig it down in the gravel a bit so your fish doesnt get caught in it.
Aquarium sealant would encase the moss and starve it of nutrients, so it will not work for sure. Fishing line or thread really is the best choice. If you are really scared you can just grow the moss in a bowl of water on a windowsill for awhile until it attaches. I don't think it takes too long.
Ideally.you should drill a couple of small holes in the top of the coconut to stop air getting trapped inside. With these holes you can then thread the line through and tie the moss on.This means you just have a small piece of line which is in a knot at the top of the coconut rather than a long length wrapped around the the whole thing.
