Hello, I am a new owner

Hello! I bought my first betta fish today and after doing some research on this website, I have come to the conclusion that the small tank I bought at the pet shop wouldn't do. I had no idea betta fishes needed so much care. Of course, now I want to do it right and that means: setting up an aquarium.

Now, since I'm kind of a geek I realised that I have a bunch of figurines and toys lyins around. I was wondering if there was some kind of rules about the decorations you can put in a betta tank. Obviously, sharp objects and painted objects are out of question since the betta fish could hurt itself on them and the paint could poison it.

Other than that, are small plastic toys okay?
