I have a male and 3 females in my community tank...no aggression...

i have a 5 gal. tank with my one betta in it, could i get two females or is that going to be too much. its a male and he's BIG! so im guessing hes older. i tried putting a small algea eater in there and he chased it all over the tank. now i have him in my comm. tank and my betta seems lonley but aggressive!

Best to leave him by himself.:) Females do not get the chance to escape his aggression in a 5 gallons.

A single male to a 5g tank only, They will not stay at peace. There's no way. Sorry but it'll work for a few months as long as they where born and raised togeather, but once they reach 3months of age. They will fight for there lifes. Females can be kept togeather for ever not males. Males will fight. I've been breding and keeping bettas for 15yrs and never had two males beable to stay in the same tank.
