I'd love some suggestions on live plants. I have a history of bad luck with plants in general, so hardy and low maintenance would be key. And thank you on the avatar comment, it's a picture of my cat MacDuff. As you can imagine, he loved helping set up my tank.

Update: Caliban is doing well, very active in the tank, but not overly so. He doesn't obsess over any one spot in the tank, though I think he does have moments when he is convinced he can swim through a tank wall if he tries hard enough. He's eating betta flakes, the pellets didn't seem to be working for him. He was curious about the air stone, but I turn it off periodically so he's not constantly surrounded by all that disruption. It also makes it easier for him to find his food when it's not on. I have some moss balls and a moss covered piece of driftwood coming in the mail to further improve his living situation.
