Lightbulb LED Lighting

G'day friends!

I am looking at purchasing some lighting for my betta. At the moment I use sunlight during the day, then my roof light, then a lamp just before bed. I get the feeling the different lights are throwing him off though, and I also want a nice lamp to light up the tank..

I am pretty keen on this,http://www.guppysaquariumproducts.com.au/lighting/led-lights-moon-lights/weipro-led-lights/led-mini-clip-light-3w/prod_1748.html
, small, compact and I love that LED's use very low amounts of power and never requite bulb changes.

My question is, will it be too bright for a betta? Or can I just angle it away a bit?

Also, I am in the process of hunting down some live plants for my tank, will this be sufficient for them?

My tank is about 2.1 gallons. Cheers!

Java Fern and Java Moss plants grow well with low to moderate light.

OK cool, cheers for that. I just wasn't sure if plants required a certain spectrum or kelvin of light.

They do.
Daylight. I forget the exact kelvin but it's something like 3500 or 2700. =/ I'll go look for that....

Ok ok, thanks. I'm not 100% sure I will get live planys. If I can get away with cycling my tank and changing the water once a week I won't need them, and hopefully that LED lamp should do fine. But I want to future-proof my tank as much as possible
