What is required.....

What exactly is required to convert a tropical fish tank into a marine saltwater tank?

I was thinking of putting Herb into a smaller Hex tank and using the big 100L into a marine tank.

It already has a light, pump, filter, and heater...

You might want to post this question in the saltwater section of TropicalFishKeeping.com, our parent forum. Our saltwater people will tell you everything you want to know.

Salt water tanks require different equipment among other things--what you need largely depends on what kind of setup you want, reef, FOWLR, etc. Generally you need live sand, live rock, a protein skimmer, and quite other very expensive items. Saltwater is not cheap.
