About to re-cycle :(

All I intended to do was switch old gravel to a new gravel and leave it at that but oh no, my life is just not that simple. The 4gallon tank has been overtaken by algae and its the type of stuff that just refuses to wash off even with a razor blade and toothbrush. Now I'm left with no option but to start allll over again

I'm going to use the rotting method and even though this maybe a stupid question, I'll ask it anyway Is frozen fish, etc the same as fresh? It will be defrosted before obviously but I have frozen Prawns and Muscle meat and was hoping to use these rather than going to the shops lol.

Well, I went with the defrosted muscle meat and obviously the old decorations and filter, etc is still in there so I'm hoping the cycle will only take a week but I'm basing that on how long the 6.5 gallon took, so fingers crossed it won't take too long lol
