New Betta

I broke down while at Wal-Mart last night. Went to look at the Bettas, mainly to check and see if they were still keeping up with upkeep since my letter. They weren't.

I know I said I would never buy from them again but I just couldn't resist this boy. He was the healthiest one there, all the other ones looked about dead or they had bloat.

He doesn't have a name yet but I'm open to suggestions!

These two are the originals, linked for size.

I know that he isn't a Mustard Gas because his fins are more pink than yellow/orange. When not taking pictures his body looks almost completely black.

Thank you, Dramaqueen.

He is doing nicely and has settled into his new 5 gallon tank. I even spoiled him and bought him nothing but silk plants XD

Why do people think that walmart carries only ugly bettas? I went there and they had lovely cellophane, red, a black and white one, and even a bright yellowish orange butterfly VT. I thought it was a goldfish at first...

Ohh I would of nabbed that yellow butterfly if I had seen him. I saw a solid yellow one at Wal-Mart before but at the time we didn't have any extra bowls so I couldn't get him XD

I LOVE the colors!

Our Walmart, well the one closest to me.. they usually do have pretty Bettas, but most are dead or about there. Only right when a shipment comes in do most look good. The workers just kill them with having no idea what they are doing. Or personally, I think they just don't care.
But I was there the other day and passed them, and they had just gotten a shipment so there were between 20-25 Bettas there. Some were SUPER pretty, but I just don't think I can support them by giving them money for something they should NOT be selling.
