Plant bulb. Am I on the right track?

I got a little package of underwater plant bulbs at walmart about a week ago. It is aponogeton hybrid bulbs. About 3 of 6 have sprouted. I am keeping them in a small tank of unfiltered water on a window sill.

Here's a pic:

Is there anything I need to be doing? I hoping it will be big enough to put in my tank for Christmas (it will be a 5 gallon cycled.)

watch out for the other ones. they can rot your water as fast as a piece of dung can! assuming they are rotten or somethin!

I have a few of those in my 10 gal. They just sprouted last week or so. Now they are growing AT LEAST 2 inches a day - no kidding! My tank has light and c02 if that helps any.

I have had 50/50 luck with both the wal-mart apon and lily bulbs
With both you don't want to bury the bulb and with the apon bulb they don't like to be moved or the leaves will melt especially from one tank to another-usually they will grow back-
I have cut both the apon and lily plants away from the bulb to propagate them and make new plants successfully
If you don't see them sprouting after a week or so-check them and make sure they are not soft and stinky-they do tend to rot.
