Painting?

My room needs a lick of paint, nothing drastic just a few touch ups here and there with some emulsion and gloss but the question is, can I?

I have three fish tanks and nowhere to move them to, whilst my little project is in process, so I am therefore open to suggestions on how to make the fish and my life a little easier haha

Maybe paint around the tanks for the time being, and then once finished, move them 1-3ft and then paint in the gaps?

Yeah. I was thinking more of the fumes from the paint and gloss, I don't want to be killing my fish out sheer vanity for my room haha

if you wanted to be obnoxiously safe you could put a garbage bag over the tank

Yeah, if you really want to be safe, you could cover the tanks. If possible, you could open the windows and use a fan. Not sure if it would hurt them anyway, but better safe than sorry.

I know paint fumes are poisonous to reptiles, we had to take ours out of the entire floor when we painted nathan's room.. I don't know how being in the water affects fish, but their labyrinth organ and them coming up to breathe.. I dunno! I say better safe than sorry!

The fumes would be the most dangerous part, make sure the room is well-ventilated. You could always cup/tupperware your bettas and put them in the bathroom in an insulated box temporarily.

I have a fire escape window so that would be open constantly while i'm painting and I like the idea of putting them in tupperware boxes thats easier, as for the 12 gallon I think i'll just put a sheet or something over it rather than chase all the fish around
