I need help with my betta!!!! Please

My betta fish Shurbert will not poop. He has a piece hanging out but it must be stuck. Right now it is almost an inch long. It has been like this for a day and I don't think it's normal.

The front half of him looks swollen. He wont swimm or eat. He just sits at the bottom. I noticed this yesterday morning.

He is about two months old.

Can someone tell me whats going on and what I can do. Please and Thank You!!!!!!!

He's got a bad case of constipation. Just keep an eye on him and it should pass eventually. Keep his water clean. He's probably not eating because of that too, same goes for the swollen stomach.
How big is his tank and do you have any live plants?
How many pellets do you feed him twice a day?
Make sure that his food is soaked first before feeding him, that could be the problem.

I agree, and it also sounds like a water quality problem as well-you need to find out what size your tank is-
And water change every other week is not enough to maintain water quality and the health of the Betta unless this is a massive planted aquarium

I would start making some daily water changes and hold all food for now

The size is maybe a gallon. The additive is Aqueon: Betta Bowl Plus Water conditioner/dechlorinator Plus trace elements specifically formulated for bettas

In a one gallon bowl you should be cleaning the bowl about every 2-3 days or so, not every other week. Sounds like that could be part of your problem. Bad water quality makes for lethargic and sick fish. Everyone else can help you with the rest, I'm no good with this stuff x3

that bowl will need 100% water changes every 2-3 days at least. i would strongly recommend a 2.5g critter keeper, or larger if possible.

also, i would add a silk plant or an ornament for now defo. your betta needs to be able to hide and relax.

your betta wont get any better if you dont work on his housing situation!

the bowl size is ok, but i'm more concerned about him jumping out... they can and will jump... I have my betta Lonnie in a one gallon jar.(I will buy one for logan when he recovers, he has some fin damage) I bought it from Target but walmart sells similar jars. heres the link (it shows a set of 2, you can buy one for about $8) and a picture of my setup: http://www.target.com/Anchor-Hocking...n&frombrowse=0

BAsically follow everyone elses advice.
CLean water I'd do a 100% every 2-3 days consistently not stopping when he gets better. Just make it a habit 2-3 days
If you are short on cash critter keepers are cheap but you still need to do frequent water changes

Follow everyone's advice about water changes, then maybe try fasting him for a day or two. If you're feeding pellets you can soak them in some of your bowl's water to make them easier for him to digest. Dry pellets will swell in your betta's stomach and can cause him to bloat or make his constipation worse.
