Question my water's turning... cloudy?

hey, everyoneee. i'm getting a crowntail betta this afternoon after school, and i just CANNOT waitt. :D

before i go and get it, i was thinking of cleaning my water/tank.
it's turning a TAD BIT cloudy. but not REALLY cloudy as you can't see the fish. and the uneaten fish food and the poop look disgusting. my ghost shrimp won't come out and eat until the lights are out.. D:

BTW, i have a 32 gal, 14 fish.

ok, so when i clean it, should i remove the fish? i'm scared one will get sucked in by the siphon. D:

Noooooo dont take the fish out! They wont get sucked up, fish are smart they will swim away from the suction. Of all ym years of community tanks I have only had one fish get too close to the suction and I had to stop it, and it was a neon tetra.

I always took out all my decorations/plants before I cleaned so I could see all the fish in the tank so I would know where they were when I cleaned. if you have live plants that wont work though.

congrats on getting a new betta =] post a picture tonight!

How long have you had the tank? Did you dump in all of the fish at once? is your tank cycled, or are you currently cycling? And how often do you change the water?
