Help any1?

Can i take out my male betta that is watching over the babies since some of the babies can swim up to the nest already but they aren't free swimmers yet? My male betta might have velvet and he isn't watching the babies anymore!

If your male is sick I would remove him and get him into treatment. Velvet is contagious so he could transfer it to the fry.

Fry get velvet faster than a barefoot jack rabbit on a hot greasy grittle in the middle of August.....excuse my Spongebob moment.

ANYWAY.....yes remove him. They will survive on the bottom until free swimming. Add anti parasitic meds and if your filter has carbon remove it.

I'm not sure if it was velvet or ich. Didn't see any white spot on the male anymore, but i still took him out and put some medication on him. Will the medication harm the small fry if I also add it to their tank?

Naw. I dont even dose my meds. I just add a few squirts. Also it dosent matter what disease it is...theyll get it. Anyway I change at least 75% of the water on my fry daily....I rarely get any disease but velvet.
