Aquabid?

[Sorry if this is in the wrong seciton]

So, i'm a little confused. I've seen some beautiful fish on Aquabid and just don't quite grasp the shipping deal. Does the seller ship the fish to the transhipper which in return ships it to you in the mail or does the seller ship the fish to the transhipper whom you then meet somewhere and pick up the fish?

I know I sound like a loser, but i've just seen some beautiful fish and was thinking about bidding on one when I have the money but I just didn't understand the whole process lol. Until I found that site I didn't even know you could mail fish places lol.

Ok here is how it goes. You buy the fish on aquabid, and you pay for the price of the fish plus usually 5 dollars..

The seller (sometimes a group of sellers) will have a single box of about 100 bettas, all shipped to the same transhipper.. They split the shipping cost, making it about 5 dollars each instead of being ridiculously expensive!

Then the fish are sent to transhippers--they ship to you and you pay normal shipping plus any extra fees they may have (2 dollar box fee, handling fee, or may charge if you make them hold your fish for longer)

Then he arrives at your house!

All in all it will cost somewhere between 5-12 or so extra dollars to get your fish to you. Some transhippers will take away the box fee(if they have them) if you mail the box back!

Do you know of any transhippers having a website or list of their shipping costs?

All petstore bettas are mailed too, generally in worse conditions than from a breeder! There is always the chance they won't make it... but usually they are fine!

I'm sure, I've seen some of the videos on youtube of PETA supporters working at petco/petsmart/wherever and all the animals in the back.
But by getting one there if I picked one and loved it SO much, it was already in the store so I know it's alive.. for now.
But if I picked one on aquabid and loved it soo much and it didnt make it I would be crushed. =[ especially since they are SO gorgeous on there.

Thanks guys! I saw a few sellers that had transhippers near me in Atlanta and NC so I got confused with the whole "choose your transhipper" deal.
