Hmm, that's weird.

I figured it would be easier to show you guys rather than to type but whatever.

My Aqueon 2.5 Mini Bow tank filter cartridge is dirty. I'm not sure if I should replace it. I think replacing it would get rid of all the good bacteria. I think JKFish told me to take the filter cartridge and soak it in a bucket of water.

I have New Life Spectrum SINKING betta pellets. When I soak them they sink (duh) so when I put them into the tank for Fusion to eat they float the the bottom and he never eats them.

On your filter media-give it a swish/rinse in old tank water or dechlorinated water a couple of time a month and when the water flow slows to get the big pieces of gunk off to maintain water flow....you want it to look dirty...this is the good bacteria-it also need good water flow and oxygenated water to colonize on the surface area of the filter media

I don't feed pellets-but, I would not soak them in too much water or you can leach out the vitamin/minerals added-I would soak just enough so that the outer coating is slightly moist so they will still float...maybe...not sure since I don't use pellets

Should I rip open my filter cartridge and put Seachem Matrix in it? Or would you reccomend something else?
