Baths as a prevenative?

Is it ok to give epsom salt and/or aquarium salt baths once a week as a preventive?

Victor ALWAYS gets this white bump on his head in the exact same spot once a week. It looks like a pump knot on the side of his head with a little white tuft sticking out. Whenever I add aquarium salt to the tank it disappears within 2-3 days. As soon as I stop adding salt to the tank it comes right back!!

It never seems to bother him, but this has been going on for about 2 months, so I'm getting concerned. I don't think it's safe for him to be living in so much salt all the time (he's in it about 3 days a week), so I'm curious if I could bathe him to prevent it from coming back?

What type of salt should I be using and how much? How many times a week should I do this and how long should I let him sit in the bath?

Thanks a lot in advance!!

Symptoms and Treatment

How has your betta fish's behavior changed? No changes

How old is your fish (approximately)? I bought him in September, not sure how long he was in the store though!
