Hit By Drunk Driver

While walking my friend's dog with her.

Was supposed to go back to work Nov. 1st (from the first accident) and I was hit 2 days before.

Leg is broken, stitched gash my forehead, broke my nose, soft tissue damage previously worked on in physio is back to square one, nightly panic attacks regarding the post impact paralysis/pain onset (scary stuff). Off for another 3 months minimum.

Unbelievable. Bordering on amazing as a far as bad luck goes. But I'm alive dammit, and after seeing the car and finding out they (drunk couple) were going 70-80mph upon's freaking amazing I'm alive at all. I took out their windshield, rolled along the side of their car removing their mirror and then flew 10ft up and about 12 ft across doing what my friend deemed 'The cartwheel trick' and all I've got is a messed face and a titanium leg.

I definitely think someone was watching out for me.

Anywho, just thought I'd check in and see how you luvlies are doing. I'm good. I'm alive and able to hug my munchkin so I'm good. :)

My goodness. You're very lucky to have survived. Hope you heal up okay.

So was it a hit and run, then? Did you manage to figure out who they were?

No, no hit and run. They kept driving for about a block and a half and then turned around and came back. Both obviously intoxicated the passenger was picked up and the driver who blew far over was arrested. That's all I know so far, I spent a week in the hospital and have been home for not much longer.

I'm just relieved to still be here and it's definitely changed my perspective on everything I've taken for granted in life. So I'm staying positive about it but there will be counselling needed as I can't seem to shake nightly panic attacks. Not yet at least.

But I'm gonna bounce back from this a force to be reckoned with, just you wait and see. :)

My poor fish though, I've had to volunteer family to clean their bowls for me as I can't stand atm. lol They seem confused.

Oh my goodness.... it's great to hear you're okay. Scary stuff, there... Truly a miracle. Makes you realize some things about life, makes you more thankful... Hope the people get busted, driving drunk is stupid and reckless. Hope you can shake the panic attacks. My friend gets them every once and awhile, and she's pretty miserable when they happen, so I can't imagine what it'd be like to get them every night. Feel better soon, and hopefully your luck turns around!

oh gosh!! So glad you are okay! That sounds incredible and terrifying! It's amazing how the human body can be so fragile, but at times, so strong! We can withstand a lot, with a little luck... Which you seem to have a good dose of(both the bad and the good luck!!)

Yuck! I have a phobia of cars anyway, I'd pack up and move to the country!

Oh my gosh, how awful!! Yes, you are lucky to be alive! I hope those people go to jail for a long, long time! I hope you'll be feeling better soon and are able to get the panic attacks under control. You may have to go on meds for awhile for the panic attacks.

Nothing like a close brush with death to give you a new perspective on life is there? Every day's a gift.

I'm glad you're alive and hopefully going to be 100% well again and wish you all the best. And I wish that people who drink and drive (I used to be one of them) could understand that when they do that they are literally making themselves into unguided missiles launched on an unsuspecting and innocent public. They need to think .

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery!
