Tail Biting

After months of re-decorating and in and out of aquarium salt, I have had enough. Elmo and Clark Gable just refuse to stop biting their tails. My beautiful HM has now got a stump of a tail and my RT isn't as bad but its still equally as annoying.

My question is, can a betta die from tail biting? by this I mean if their tails get really bad to the point where they can no longer swim. Is this possible?

Thanks

Yes. Open wounds are much more susceptible to infection. If it gets infected the fish can get sick. If the fish is sick it can die. But the risk is much less prominent so long as the tank has clean water.
