One of my boys only will eat frozen bloodworms...

Is this bad? He used to eat pellets, then stopped 2 weeks ago, so I tried bloodworms & it stuck... I use the 3x treated Hikari brand...He refuses frozen brine shrimp even! I bought a brine shrimp hatchery that's coming Tues...he can't possibly turn down live ones I hope..Otherwise, he is bright & lively.
Picky picky eater!! lol
How do I do the garlic powder/pellet soak?? What ratio? Thank you :)

Yep, I've got one of those finicky eaters too- freeze dried brine shrimp only, NOT frozen, NOT live... He will eat tiny live insects though (but not gnats or ants). The little sucka held out for TWO WEEKS before I figured this out! Everyone here says that's not sufficient, but Hikari says right on the top line of the can "Excellent daily diet". I wish he would eat different stuff and I've given him more than one good talking to, but hey???

LoL....I think they just test us to be brats, haha...like little kids who won't eat veggies and only hotdogs if they are cut up.

I will try the live bugs, the ones in the bottle I got from Petco are not coming to life...guess I'll leave banana bits in a jar outside & cross my fingers!

Indeed. Caught a spider in my room and tossed that baby in the tank. Betta tore it up!

I have the same problem with Tina, one of my females. She won't eat ANYTHING that's not alive. I give her brine shrimp and mosquito larva I have outside. But, I really want her to eat the pellets. All my other fish eat happily their pellets and all the live food I give them... she's the only one with a special taste thingy... but I still love her that way.

My fish just started eating pellets! (= Though srry I don't really know how to convince the Betta mine just out of nowhere ate a pellet because he had adjusted. I think the larger the tank, the longer it takes. I don't know why your Betta isn't eating them...
