I see pictures and videos that show tanks with Bettas and sand instead of gravel or pebbles. I always thought that if you put sand in a freshwater tank it would become salty. Also, how do people have sand with no Algae growing on it? I have a saltwater tank and the sand is all green and brown from algae. Thanks for the help!
There's sand at freshwater lakes and rivers too!
Sand is just fine bits of rock and minerals.
There are different kinds of sands to choose from based on your tank and your fish.
Well think about it. If you were to take your colorful gravel and crush it up it would be sand right?
