Question How do you heat a 2.5 gal tank?

Hello,
I'm new around here. I live in Alaska. (Very snowy right now, so I'm glad I have a warm house.) I have three Male Betta's. The all have pretty small tanks because of the limit of space I have in my room and the fact my mom will freak if I try to get a bigger tank for such 'small fish'. (The tanks are like One half of a gallon.) I do water changes everyday. I do the best I can to make sure my little fishes stay happy.

But anyway, my question is...If I got a 2 or 2.5 gallon tank for my biggest Betta, how would I heat it sense there aren't any heaters for those type of tanks, (or is there)?

I wouldn't recommend a pre-set heater. Sometimes they can be unpredictable.

This heater is one of the best heaters for the price and I know many will agree with me. http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.co...m?pcatid=11368
For a 2.5 gal get the 25 watt version.

Just pick up a 25 watt adjustable tank heater at your local pet store!

I have this one in my 2.5! It's an Elite Radiant 25 watt. It looks like this!

It's a bit finicky and kinda bulky, but I've seen it for $5 online if you're on a budget! Mine works fine though, keeps the water at 80 degrees :)

Indeed... a 25W adjustable heater is exactly what you'll need. My adjustable 25W heaters (the same brand as TaylorW's) will be here in a few days! They're better than the preset (I have three of them for each of my 2.5 gallon tanks) because they let the water temperature fluctuate.

I would get something that you can adjust the tempature on. Personally I find the preset ones useless. Just get something small, and keep a close eye on it to make sure it doesn't get too hot and fry your fish.

It's hilarious the one item this board seems to vocally hate on are pre set heaters. Haven't had a single issue with mine and used them during my lifetime of fish keeping with no issues whatsoever.

To each their own...haha
