Building tank

I'm considering making a fish tank which would be 12x12x12, approximatively 7.5 gallons with a wooden frame. I'm going to use acrylic and I'm wondering if there is a certain thickness i need to use?

Honestly, I would go over to www.plantedtank.net, become a member, and ask lots and lots of questions before trying to start this project out by yourself. You want to make sure you use the best materials possible. There are some members on that forum who have made tanks and have them break... it's a big expensive mess to fix. I think they will be able to help you out the best, they know what will work and won't work.

Make sure to post pictures and updates about your project. I'm very interested in how it turns out. I'd love to make a tank for my betta.
